Curtains are a higher quality and more durable solutions than blinds. Curtains block out more sound and more light, while blinds, on the other hand, cause a sound bounce, allow more light in and are harder to clean. Timms Curtain House will always listen to your wants and practical needs in order to provide the best solution. We provide both curtains and blinds for your convenience.

Bev Timms understands that a lot of curtain companies take advantage of and abuse people’s budgets. We are not like most curtain companies – we strictly adhere to your budget and do not judge your budget on your home. We will listen to what YOU want in terms of budget, your technical requirements and the feel you want to achieve.

We service the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast – and all surrounding suburbs. We may travel further distances depending on the size of the project. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have a question about the areas we can service.

Negligence and accidents do pose a safety risk. With the latest FR (flame retardant), DFR (durably flame retardant) and IFR (inherently flame retardant) woven fabrics, a curtain can, in fact, offer considerable resistance to fire and affords the owner piece of mind in an unfortunate event. Proximity to a potential flame source, such as a candelabra or fireplace should be taken into account when positioning a curtain.

Allergy-sufferers should avoid curtains that tend to trap pollen and dust particles, such as the heavy, thick, dry-clean type curtains that are usually difficult to clean. A better option would be lightweight, easy-to- clean synthetic type curtains, like polyester or faux linen. If you live in an extremely moist area then mould spores can be an issue, which is why it is important to keep curtains dry at all times. Blinds and shades are another option worth considering; especially vertical blinds and aluminium blinds.

Traditionally, in the instance of home curtains, a track (rod) is designed to readily accommodate taped curtains. But seeing that eyelet curtains are a lot more user-friendly, and without the need for hooks or prongs, they are increasingly becoming a popular and an ergonomic alternative with their neater, cleaner appearance. if you are looking for the most amount of window coverage- then eyelet curtains are the better option. On the other hand, a more replete look can best be accommodated by taped curtains. Ultimately, it all comes down to personal preference and style.
